Despite missing three games with injury in the second half of the season, he was sixth among all conference players with his 16.7 yards per catch average. Despite having three seasons of eligibility remaining, he is entering his fourth season of college football, giving him deceiving experience in the middle of the defense. Stewart came to Rhode Island in 2020 and has started 13 of a possible 14 games since his arrival. Last season he led the team with 88 tackles and was second with seven pass breakups.   2021 ALL-IVY LEAGUE HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Jordan Colbert, Columbia (Sr., DB - Washington, D.C.),...Colbert is a Washington, D.C. native who came on strong at the end of the season as he made 24 tackles in the last three contests at free safety for the Lions. A hard hitter and playmaker, Colbert ranked No. 4 on the Lions in total tackles with 49 (25 solo), registered two interceptions, broke up five passes, and recovered a fumble. He ranked No. 24 in the Ivy League in tackles. In his two-year, 20-game career, Colbert has totaled 68 tackles (39 solo) with 1.0 tackle for loss, two interceptions, and six pass breakups.   2021 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Nick Correia, Rhode Island, OL, So.,...Guard Nick Correia, cornerback Jordan Jones and outside linebacker L.B. Mack III both earned second-team honors. Guard Evan Lovell was a third-team selection. Correia and Lovell both started all 11 games at the guard spots. Correia was the right guard, while Lovell manned the left side.   2021 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Coby Tippett, Rhode Island, PR, Sr.,...Tippett made the all-conference team for the third straight season, this time earning honors at two different positions. He was the first-team punt returner after leading the CAA and finishing sixth in the country with 12.6 yards per return. He had two returns of 50 yards or longer, including a 50-yarder that proved to be the game winner at UAlbany, which earned him CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week honors. As the Rams starting fullback, he caught seven passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. The burly battering ram also helped Rhode Island average 133.6 rushing yards per game with his lead blocking. He led an effort that resulted in the team breaking up 51 passes, the second most in program history. Jones had a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown against Brown, and two interceptions against Stony Brook. He ranked fifth in the league in sacks and seventh in TFLs, while also finishing fourth on the team with 51 total tackles. In URI's win over Delaware, Mack returned a blocked punt for a touchdown. He was the CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week after recording 4.5 TFLs and 3.5 sacks in a win at Massachusetts.   Kasim Hill threw four touchdown passes - two of them to freshman running back Jaylen Smith - and Rhode Island cruised to a 28-3 victory over New Hampshire in Colonial Athletic Conference play on Saturday. Hill connected with Smith for an 81-yard scoring strike on Rhode Island's third play from scrimmage as the Rams (7-3, 4-3) grabbed a 7-0 lead. Hill hooked up with Matt Pires for a 6-yard score with 1:38 left before halftime for a 14-3 lead. Hill and Smith teamed up for a 2-yard TD in the third quarter. Hill fired a 20-yard scoring strike to Ivory Frimpong in the fourth to cap the scoring. Hill completed 12 of 23 passes for 221 yards. Smith ran for 117 yards on 18 carries and caught three passes for 88 yards. Bret Edwards connected on 10 of 16 passes for 85 yards for the Wildcats (3-7, 2-5). Backup Tommy Herion was 5-of-15 passing for 50 yards with a pick. New Hampshire managed just 159 yards of offense.   Kasim Hill threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more and FCS-member Rhode Island picked up its second-ever win over a FBS school with a 35-22 win over UMass on Saturday. It was the 89th meeting between the schools, dating to 1903, but the first time they've played since 2011 when the Minutemen began the transition up. The Rams beat UConn for its other FBS win on Nov. 11, 2000. Hill's fourth score, a 2-yard run that capped an 80-yard drive, and Jaylen Smith's 72-yard burst in the in the third quarter broke the game open as the Rams (6-3) went up 35-16. Hill was 11 of 20 for 169 yards and ran for 32 more. Jaylen Smith had 16 carries for 111 yards. Joey Kenny and Ed Lee had receiving touchdowns. Mack III returned a blocked put for the game-winner and Jordan Jones intercepted a pass in the end zone to seal it as Rhode Island scored twice in the fourth quarter and held on in the final minute to edge Delaware 22-15 in a clash of FCS top teams on Saturday. Delaware (3-2, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association), ranked No. 10 in the FCS coaches poll, overcame a 12-0 Rhode Island lead to surge ahead 15-12 with a pair of touchdowns and a two-point conversion run.

Undefeated Rhode Island, No. 20 in the FCS coaches poll, is 5-0 for the first time since 2001 and 3-0 in conference. The Rams answered the Delaware surge with a C.J. Carrick field goal, his third of the game, and Mack's 28-yard return of a punt blocked by AJ Bibeault. Jordan's interception in the end zone with 23 seconds left to seal the win was his second of the game and fifth of the season. Dejoun Lee carried 19 times for 115 yards and scored on a two-point conversion for Delaware. Lee has surpassed 100 yards rushing in the Blue Hens last three games and a 7-yard gainer early on pushed him past 2,000 yards career rushing.   Andre Blackett stuffed Ty Son Lawson on a fourth-and-1 play from the 2-yard line to secure Rhode Island's first-ever win over Stony Brook, 27-20 in overtime on Saturday. The Rams (4-0, 2-0) broke a seven-game skid against Stony Brook (1-4, 0-2) after seven losses since joining the Colonial Athletic Association. Rhode Island, ranked 23rd in the FCS coaches' poll, missed field goals of 45 and 51 yards on their last two possessions of regulation, the second coming on the final play. The Rams got the ball first in overtime, and after a 2-yard loss, Kasim Hill hit Caleb Warren over the middle for a touchdown. Hill finished 21 of 37 for 226 yards and he added 66 yards on the ground with a touchdown. The TD capped a 94-yard drive that gave the Rams a 20-13 lead early in the fourth quarter. Justin Antrum ran for 104 yards and a score. Stony Brook quarterback Tyquell Fields threw for 101 yards but ran for a pair of scores, the second coming with 7:40 to play that tied the game.
